Thanks for offering to run a Street Orienteering event - while it's not too difficult there are lots of people who would be pleased to help you with the map, setting up on the day and collecting controls. If you have any concerns at all - just ring the coordinator for your series.
The following pages will help you to run your event :
|
Title |
Description |
|---|---|
| Mapping Tips and Hints | Provides information about mapping standards and how to draw
a street orienteering map. Note that most areas of the Melbourne metropolitan
area have been mapped already - it is most unlikely that you will be asked
to build your own map. |
| Course Setting | During this activity you work out where you want to place
your controls and produce a "master map". The master map is then
photocopied to provide one copy for each runner (plus a few spares of course). |
| On the Day Organisation | It's almost over. Just place the controls in the field, run
the event and then collect the controls. Then go home and relax... |
| Scoring the Event | A sample of our scoring software and instructions for use
of this program. How to send your results back to Street-O Central. |
| Templates/Forms | Some templates/forms that may help you run your event. |
| Support/Contacts | Experienced orienteers that are prepared to offer assistance. |
| Attendance Statistics for this Season | Don't know how many maps to print? |
